Preview | FC Cincinnati turn around quick for road trip to Nashville SC
FC Cincinnati will look to rebound from a tough loss when they visit Nashville SC on Wednesday night.
FCC fell 2-0 at home to the New England Revolution on Saturday, snapping a two-game winning streak. It was Cincinnati’s first loss at home this season.
Nashville SC, meanwhile, is coming off a 1-0 win over the Vancouver Whitecaps on Saturday. It was Nashville’s second win in a row and third in their last four games.
The two teams are tied for third place in the Eastern Conference with 13 points each. However, Nashville SC has a game in hand.
FC Cincinnati will be without several key players for Wednesday’s game. Midfielder Luciano Acosta is suspended after receiving a red card against New England, and defender Geoff Cameron is out with a hamstring injury.
Despite the absences, FC Cincinnati coach Pat Noonan said he is confident his team can get a result in Nashville.
"We know it's going to be a tough game, but we're confident in our ability to get a result," Noonan said. "We're going to go there and play our game and see what happens."
Nashville SC coach Gary Smith said he is expecting a tough match against FC Cincinnati.
"They're a good team with a lot of good players," Smith said. "We're going to have to be at our best to get a result."
The game will be televised on ESPN+.
