Norris Edges Out Verstappen for Top Spot

In a thrilling qualifying session at the Hungaroring, Lando Norris of McLaren stormed to pole position for the 2024 Hungarian Grand Prix. The British driver delivered a blistering lap in the dying moments of Q3, just pipping last year's race winner Max Verstappen to the top spot by a mere 0.069 seconds.

Verstappen, who had dominated practice throughout the weekend, looked poised to take pole until Norris's late surge. The Red Bull driver had to settle for second place, while Carlos Sainz Jr. of Ferrari completed the front row.

Lewis Hamilton of Mercedes qualified fourth, ahead of surprising Alpine driver Esteban Ocon. George Russell will start sixth for Mercedes, followed by Haas's Kevin Magnussen and AlphaTauri's Yuki Tsunoda.
