House Censors Democrat Bowman for Falsely Pulling Fire Alarm
Resolution Passes with Republican Support
The House of Representatives voted on Thursday to censure Democratic Representative Jamaal Bowman of New York for falsely triggering a fire alarm in a House office building during a session.
GOP-Led Effort
The resolution was introduced by Republican Representative Barry Loudermilk of Georgia and supported by the Republican-led majority in the House. The resolution accuses Bowman of "reckless and irresponsible" behavior and "putting the safety of others at risk."
Bowman has apologized for his actions, claiming that he accidentally pulled the alarm while attempting to open a door.
